Hunter Kozak, the last person to ask Charlie Kirk a question before the conservative commentator was assassinated in September, met Charlie’s widow, Erika Kirk, and posed a question to her at a CBS News town hall that aired Saturday night. Kozak is a student at Utah Valley University.
The town hall, moderated by CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss, featured questions from an invited audience. Also in attendance was Robert Milgrim, father of 26-year-old Israeli embassy staffer Sarah Milgrim, who was killed in May outside the Capitol Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C.
Erika Kirk answered questions about faith, political violence and the American right, and described the moment she forgave the accused killer of her husband. She also spoke about the Sabbath and its significance in Charlie’s life and work. Charlie Kirk’s final book, Stop, in the Name of God: Why Honoring the Sabbath Will Transform Your Life, was released posthumously this week.
This town hall is the first in a planned series of CBS News town halls and debates. The full video is available on this page and streaming on Paramount+. An extended version will air on CBS News 24/7 — available on mobile and connected TV — on Sunday at 9 a.m., 3 p.m., 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. ET, and will be on-demand on CBS News’ YouTube channel.
