Erika Kirk said she and conservative commentator Candace Owens will meet Monday, days after Kirk — widow of Charlie Kirk — told Owens to stop spreading conspiracy theories about her late husband’s assassination during a CBS town hall.
Kirk posted on X that the two “will have a private, in-person meeting” Monday and agreed to pause public discussions, livestreams and tweets until after the meeting. She said she’s looking forward to a “productive discussion.” Owens also wrote on X that she is “very much looking forward to this discussion.”
Erika Kirk spoke with CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss in a town hall that aired Saturday. When Weiss asked what she would say to Owens, who has amplified theories about Charlie Kirk’s death, Erika Kirk replied simply, “Stop. That’s it. That’s all I have to say. Stop.”
Owens, once a friend of Charlie Kirk and a former employee at Turning Point USA, posted a lengthy video the day after his assassination asking that he be remembered for his career and ideas. In the months since, she has promoted conspiracy theories about his murder and made unfounded allegations about the finances of Turning Point, which Erika Kirk now oversees.
The Treasury Department has confirmed that none of the tax-exempt entities Erika Kirk supervises are under investigation by the IRS.
