Actor and Broadway performer Beanie Feldstein announced she and her wife, Bonnie‑Chance Roberts, are expecting a daughter during an appearance on CBS Mornings. When co‑host Gayle King pointed out photos of the couple in pink, Feldstein confirmed, “It’s a girl baby.”
The child will be the family’s first granddaughter; Feldstein’s brother, Jonah Hill, is already a dad to two boys. Feldstein, 32, said she became an aunt at 13 and feels “so lucky” to be preparing for parenthood. She credited watching relatives raise children as an important part of her learning about parenting.
Although she has experience working with children and previously babysat, Feldstein said what she’s most excited about is the unique bond a child forms with a parent. She described the special moment when a child reaches for a parent in a different way than they might reach for another caregiver and said she’s honored to be one of the two people her child will choose to seek out.
Alongside the pregnancy news, Feldstein is releasing her first children’s book, Teeny and Tillie, which centers on the importance and power of friendship. She explained that while adults structure much of a young child’s day, one of the first real choices children make is whom to spend time with at the playground — and those early decisions can spark lifelong connections.
Feldstein said she wanted her story to celebrate how a simple conversation or shared moment can grow into a lasting friendship. She seems to be entering this next chapter with gratitude and excitement about both becoming a parent and sharing a message about friendship with young readers.
