Carol June Davis, 81, died in a car accident at her Anderson, Indiana, home on February 20, 2026. Her family and the community mourn the loss of a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend.
Born June 25, 1944, in Waukegan, Illinois, Carol was raised on the ‘Bunny Ranch’ in Ingalls, Indiana, the daughter of Harry and Caroline (Bunker) Sanderlin. She graduated from Pendleton High School in 1962 and married Tom Davis in 1963. Together they raised three children, and family remained the center of her life.
Carol spent many years working in the meat and deli department at Mace’s grocery store in Pendleton. She loved music and was a devoted fan of Elvis tribute artist Scotty Zion. Known for her kindness and thoughtful nature, Carol had a special habit of sending greeting cards to friends and family, a small gesture that left a lasting impression on many.
She is survived by her daughters Sherry (Steve) Hoskins and Donna Davis, both of Pendleton; six grandchildren Shay (Mac) Rothstein, Kara (Andrae) Robinson, Shawn (Eddie) Frank, Katy (Joey) Byler, Danielle Davis, and Austin Davis; 12 great-grandchildren Meleah, Steven, Kardell, Lilly, Jaevion, Owen, Allie, Zariah, Lucy, Molly, Betty, and Dorothy; and a special niece, Susie Smith.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and by her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Debbie Davis of Buford, Georgia.
A celebration of life for Carol, to be held jointly with Tim and Debbie Davis, will take place Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Community Church, 3126 W. Market St., Huntsville, Indiana. Pastor Claude Creel will officiate. Carol will be laid to rest at Mendon Cemetery in Pendleton, Indiana.
