Five people were shot early Sunday at the Iowa City pedestrian mall near the University of Iowa, police said. The Iowa City Police Department responded to reports of a large fight in the 100 block of East College Street at 1:46 a.m.; officers arriving on scene heard gunfire. Multiple victims were taken to area hospitals; police told CBS News one person was in critical condition and the other four were stable. University of Iowa President Barb Wilson confirmed three of those wounded are students. No victims have been publicly identified. No arrests have been made and the investigation remains active. Police asked the public for help locating five people of interest connected to the shooting, and the university shared the request. The pedestrian mall was closed for several hours and reopened Sunday afternoon.
