– Tonight, fired University of Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore is free on bond following his arraignment on a felony charge of home invasion as well as two misdemeanor counts.
– Jericka Duncan reports prosecutors revealed disturbing new details at Moore’s arraignment.
JERICKA DUNCAN (VOICEOVER): Appearing remotely from a county jail in a white jumpsuit—
– State of Michigan versus Sharon Banfield Moore.
JERICKA DUNCAN (VOICEOVER): —former University of Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore was charged with stalking and illegally entering the home of the woman he was allegedly romantically involved with.
– Yes, Your Honor.
JERICKA DUNCAN (VOICEOVER): The prosecutor says Moore went to the woman’s home after he was fired on Wednesday.
– —barged his way into that apartment.
JERICKA DUNCAN (VOICEOVER): Moore allegedly grabbed several butter knives and kitchen scissors and threatened to kill himself, saying—
– “I’m going to make you watch.” “My blood is on your hands.” “You ruined my life.” She was terrorized, Your Honor.
JERICKA DUNCAN (VOICEOVER): That woman, who the court did not identify, worked side by side with Moore.
– They had an intimate relationship for a number of years. Our victim broke up with this defendant.
JERICKA DUNCAN (VOICEOVER): Robert Carian, a former Michigan football player, posted about the alleged scandal 10 days ago. He claims the athletic department was aware of the affair.
– Was there any consideration about what your post would do or mean to the family of Sherrone Moore?
– I’m going to say absolutely not, because your question assumes that this was a secret affair. It was well known in Ann Arbor. It was actively being covered up.
JERICKA DUNCAN (VOICEOVER): The university said in a statement, “There is absolutely no tolerance for this conduct at the University of Michigan. None.”
Moore pleaded not guilty and is due back in court next month.
