The Israel Defense Forces said Sunday it had killed 40 Iranian commanders in strikes on Iran. Bahrain’s National Communication Center reported another wave of “Iranian ballistic missiles and drones” on Sunday morning. The statement said air defense systems “responded with high efficiency and full operational readiness,” reporting “limited debris” across several areas. The statement did not specify how many weapons were involved; Bahraini authorities said Saturday night they had intercepted 45 missiles and nine drones.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry said in a Sunday statement that Khamenei had become “an inspiring legend in the history of Iran and Islam” after his killing in the U.S.-Israeli attack on Tehran on Saturday. The ministry said he “lived a pious life, loved Iran, secured Iran’s independence, opposed foreign domination and worked tirelessly for our country’s resilience and fortitude,” and added he died “at the hands of the most corrupt and criminal individuals on earth” and “will remain a living nightmare for his killers forever.”
