Bahrain’s state news agency reported that the U.S. Navy Fifth Fleet’s service center was targeted in a missile attack Saturday.
The Israel Defense Forces said a joint Israeli‑U.S. strike on Iran “included an attack on dozens of military targets” as part of a broad, coordinated operation. The IDF emphasized close cooperation with the U.S., saying months of joint planning enabled synchronized execution and that its forces had long‑prepared defense and attack plans.
Iran’s Interior Ministry condemned the U.S.-Israel attack, saying the “criminal enemy has once again violated all international laws and during negotiations, once again violated our beloved homeland.” The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, via state broadcaster IRIB, said an attack on Israel had begun and announced “the first wave of widespread missile and drone attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran against the occupied territories has begun.” A photo showed smoke rising over Tehran after an explosion Saturday.
The U.S. embassy in Qatar warned Americans of “imminent missile strikes,” urging people to “duck and cover” and shelter in place until further notice.
