Cover story — Apple at 50
Apple marks its 50th anniversary this year. David Pogue, author of the new history Apple: The First 50 Years, examines how the company that began with Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs reshaped technology, culture and daily life. Pogue’s piece includes interviews with Wozniak, CEO Tim Cook and others who trace Apple’s evolution from the Apple II to the latest iPhone models. An excerpt from the book is featured, and Pogue will appear for a live conversation with Lee Cowan at the 92nd Street Y in New York City on Thurs., April 16 at 8 p.m.; tickets are available for in-person attendance and streaming access. The book is available March 10 in hardcover, eBook and audio.

NCIS, now in its 23rd season, has reached its 500th episode. Luke Burbank talks with cast members Gary Cole, Brian Dietzen, Katrina Law, Sean Murray, Diona Reasonover and Wilmer Valderrama, and longtime showrunner Steve Binder about how the series became a global ratings phenomenon. The 500th episode airs March 24 on CBS and will stream on Paramount+.

U.S.: The persistence of hunger in America
Despite the end of the federal annual food insecurity report, hunger remains a crisis: nearly 48 million Americans, including about 14 million children, face food insecurity on any given day. Lee Cowan sits down with Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, outgoing CEO of Feeding America, for a conversation about the scope of the problem and what communities and organizations are doing to respond.
