Super Bowl LX is less than a week away and the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots have arrived in the Bay Area. The Patriots are making their 12th trip to the big game — their first since Tom Brady retired — and are hoping to win a record-breaking seventh Super Bowl title. The Seahawks are in the Super Bowl for the fourth time; a victory would be their second and serve as revenge for their devastating loss to the Patriots in 2015.
CBS News correspondent Nidia Cavazos reports from Santa Clara that opening-night activities include player interviews and photo sessions for both teams. The city is preparing to welcome more than 1.3 million people for the week’s events, which will include fans attending the game as well as visitors coming for surrounding festivities — and some notably here for Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance.
Local leaders say city, state and federal partners are coordinating security for the large, region‑wide event. Officials also expect a significant economic boost for local businesses from the influx of visitors over Super Bowl week.
