March 16, 2026 — Costco is recalling its Meatloaf with Mashed Yukon Potatoes and Glaze meal kit sold at stores in multiple states, Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C., because the product may be contaminated with salmonella. The kits carry sell-by dates from March 5 through March 16.
Customers who purchased the meal kit should not eat it and may return it to any Costco location for a full refund. Costco’s recall follows a separate recall by ingredient supplier Griffith Foods for an ingredient used in the meatloaf that has been linked to possible salmonella contamination.
Salmonella is a bacterial infection most commonly spread through contaminated food or water. Symptoms can include diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps; in severe cases the infection can be life-threatening. Costco says no illnesses or injuries tied to this product have been reported so far.
The meal kit was sold at Costco locations in: Alabama; Arizona; California; Colorado; Delaware; District of Columbia; Florida; Georgia; Hawaii; Illinois; Indiana; Iowa; Kentucky; Maryland; Michigan; Mississippi; Missouri; Nevada; New Mexico; North Carolina; Ohio; Pennsylvania; Puerto Rico; South Carolina; Tennessee; Utah; Virginia; Wisconsin.
