Updated Dec. 13, 2025 / 11:08 PM EST — The winning numbers for Saturday’s Powerball drawing, for an estimated $1 billion jackpot, were announced: 1, 28, 31, 57 and 58, with a Powerball of 16.
This is the second Powerball drawing in 2025 to reach a $1 billion estimate. Any jackpot winner or winners would have the choice of an annuity valued at roughly $1 billion or a one-time cash lump sum estimated at $461.3 million before taxes. Lottery officials had not immediately confirmed whether any ticket matched all six numbers.
A photo illustration accompanying the drawing showed Powerball tickets on the counter at Brew Market and Cafe in Austin, Texas.
In September, a record $1.787 billion Powerball prize was split between two winning tickets sold in Missouri and Texas. Powerball tickets cost $2 and are available in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot remain extremely long. After a 2015 format change that raised the number of white balls from 59 to 69 and reduced the red Powerball options from 35 to 26, the odds of winning shifted from about 1 in 175.2 million to about 1 in 292.2 million.
Officials will announce whether any ticket matched Saturday’s numbers after validation. Players are advised to check their tickets and follow local lottery procedures if they believe they have a winning ticket.
