Costco is recalling a Meatloaf with Mashed Yukon Potatoes and Glaze meal kit sold at its locations in multiple states, Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C., because it may be contaminated with salmonella. The kits have sell-by dates of March 5 to March 16.
Customers who bought the product should not consume it and can return it to any Costco location for a refund. Costco’s recall follows a recall by one of its ingredient suppliers, Griffith Foods, for an ingredient used in the meatloaf tied to possible salmonella contamination.
Salmonella is a bacterial infection usually caused by contaminated food or water that can cause diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps; in serious cases it can be fatal. Costco said no injuries or illnesses linked to this product have been reported so far.
Locations where the meal kit was sold:
Alabama; Arizona; California; Colorado; Delaware; District of Columbia; Florida; Georgia; Hawaii; Illinois; Indiana; Iowa; Kentucky; Maryland; Michigan; Mississippi; Missouri; Nevada; New Mexico; North Carolina; Ohio; Pennsylvania; Puerto Rico; South Carolina; Tennessee; Utah; Virginia; Wisconsin
