60 MINUTES is America’s longest-running and most-watched newsmagazine, offering investigative reports, newsmaker interviews, feature stories and in-depth profiles. Over more than half a century the program has set television records, including 52 consecutive years as America’s #1 news program (concluding the 2025–26 season). The 58th season averaged 9.1 million viewers and reached more than one in three Americans; on social platforms the broadcast surpassed 2.5 billion video views, more than doubling its prior record. 60 MINUTES has finished among Nielsen’s annual top 10 for a record 26 seasons and has been honored with nearly every major broadcast journalism award, including 26 Peabody Awards and more Emmys than any other primetime broadcast. The series was created by Don Hewitt and premiered on CBS in September 1968.
