Serato DJ Launches for iPhone and iPad: A Game Changer for Mobile DJs
Serato DJ's new iOS app brings professional features to your mobile device, making DJing more accessible than ever.
Introduction to Serato DJ for iOS
Serato DJ has expanded its reach, allowing DJs to harness its powerful software on iPhones and iPads. This new mobile application marks a significant step for the DJ community, as it brings the professional-grade features of their flagship software right to the palm of your hand.
Feature-Rich Mobile Experience
Previously, Serato's offerings for mobile devices were limited, providing only basic functionalities with apps like Pyro, which added simple autofades between songs. With this new release, DJs can now access a comprehensive suite of features usually reserved for desktop users.
Your experience will remain consistent if you're accustomed to Serato on your laptop. The iOS version offers a seamless workflow and it enables users to transfer their music library directly from Serato DJ 5.0 via USB-C or wirelessly.
Advanced DJ Tools
With Serato DJ for iOS, users can take advantage of advanced features such as:
- Stem separation
- A wide range of effects
- EQ tools
- BPM matching
- Key sync
- Cue points
- Recording options
These tools enhance live performances and allow DJs to capture their sets for later playbacks.
Compatibility and Hardware Support
Serato DJ for iOS is designed to accommodate various styles of performing. DJs can use the touchscreen to mix tracks, choosing from different layouts. For those who prefer tactile control, the app supports over 120 hardware controllers. While some older controllers may require an adapter, compatibility issues should not pose a significant challenge to most users.
Additionally, the app supports Digital Vinyl Systems (DVS), catering to scratch DJs and those who enjoy the authentic feel of using vinyl records.
Getting Started with Serato DJ for iOS
The app is currently available as a feature-limited version in the App Store, giving users a taste of what to expect. For full access, a license can be purchased for $149. Alternatively, users can subscribe for $14.99 a month, which bundles Serato DJ Pro, Serato Studio, and all available expansions.
With this launch, Serato is setting the stage for a new generation of DJs who want flexibility in their craft while still enjoying the robust features and performance that the brand is known for.
